Snæfellsnes Peninsula Private Tour with a Local

About this experience

What makes this tour unique is that we travel in the opposite direction and at different times from the regular bus tours, avoiding the crowds and giving you the feeling of having Iceland almost to yourself.

This is a journey through the raw beauty of Iceland, where fire meets ice and adventure meets peace. While exploring the Snæfellsnes Peninsula, you will enjoy the scenic coastal walk in Arnarstapi, surrounded by dramatic cliffs, lava formations, and views of Snæfellsjökull Glacier. The tour also includes Mt. Kirkjufell, Ytri-Tunga seal beach, Djúpalónssandur black sand beach, Ólafsvík, Borgarnes, and the iconic Búðakirkja Church.

Optional activities such as a lava cave visit or a snowcat journey up to the glacier can be added upon request. These experiences are not included in the tour price, but Elisabete will gladly arrange everything for a seamless and unforgettable Icelandic adventure.

15 min stop to be amazed by the Cliffs. Many have compared Gerberg basalt columns of the feature to a fortress wall.

The most unusual thing about Gerðuberg is how the columns are so geometrically symmetrical that they seem to be carved by hand.

Ytri Tunga is a beach by a farm of the same name on the Snæfellsnes Peninsula. Unlike many of the beaches in Iceland, Ytri Tunga has golden sand, rather than black. Be delighted by a Seal colony who simply pose for photos

Tiny wooden church dating back to the 19th century in a scenic natural area with a lava field.

Here your guide will drop you by an old horse trail through the lava field Hellnahraun is highly popular for hiking, due to the impressiveness of the surrounding landscape.
You will walk through the trail and end on a parking lot where you will meet your guide and together you can decide where to have lunch.
Quick stop by the stop where Jules Verne calculated the beginning of the journey to the center of the Earth

Djúpalónssandur is a sandy beach and bay on foot of Snæfellsjökull in Iceland.
