Planning perspective
How I’d plan this experience
I’d choose this Blue Lagoon ticket when you want the soak and a transfer bundled together—especially if you’re fitting it between Reykjavík and Keflavík. The useful decision is less about whether the lagoon appeals and more about which transfer and entrance package fits your day. Plan for some handoffs and queues rather than expecting a private, door-to-water experience.
Who this suits
This is a strong fit if you want time in the warm, mineral-rich outdoor lagoon without arranging admission and transport separately. The listed duration varies from one to six hours, and the itinerary specifies a three-hour stop, so I’d treat three hours as a useful planning anchor rather than assume you can stay all day.
Families can consider it: the minimum age is two, and the listing says each adult may supervise no more than two children. But the bathhouse can feel busy and confusing at check-in and in the changing rooms, so I’d allow for that transition if you’re travelling with children.
Choose the transfer around your day
The Reykjavík options pair round-trip transfer with either Comfort or Premium entrance. If you’re arriving through Keflavík, the airport shuttle options describe a route between Keflavík, the Blue Lagoon and Reykjavík or back to Keflavík. I’d choose based on where you need to end up, not just the entrance tier.
There is an important pickup wrinkle: Reykjavík pickup is listed from hotels, guesthouses, apartments and ports, but local rules mean some stays require you to walk to a nearby bus stop. Pickup starts 90 minutes before ticket time, and transfer duration can vary with traffic. This is a shared tour, not a private car, so keep your wider schedule flexible.
Comfort or Premium?
Comfort includes a towel, one non-alcoholic beverage and a silica face mask. Premium adds a bathrobe, one beverage and a silica plus mineral/algae mask; the inclusions also list a small silica mud mask to take home with Premium. I’d pick Comfort if you mainly want the lagoon and a simple included treat. Premium makes more sense if the robe and expanded mask selection matter to you; neither package includes meals or extra drinks and masks.
Bring your own swimsuit or rent one at the facilities. I’d leave jewellery out of the water, since the listing cautions that the lagoon’s mineral content may damage it.
The trade-off to keep in mind
The lagoon itself is the draw, but the experience around it may be less serene: feedback describes a chaotic bathhouse and changing rooms, even when the water time is enjoyable. My advice is to treat check-in as part of the outing, not expect a hushed spa arrival. The transfer bundle can simplify planning, but pickup points and schedule changes are practical vulnerabilities; confirm your pickup details and leave breathing room around the ticket time.
For cancellation, the stated full-refund deadline is at least 24 hours before scheduled departure. Also note that the ticket is emailed as a PDF, so find it before travel rather than relying only on the booking confirmation.
